Digital media for change and well-being: Girl-led ‘from the ground up’ policy-making in addressing sexual violence in South Africa (Nelson Mandela University)(2013-2014)

N De Lange, with C Mitchell (McGill University), R Moletsane (UKZN) Nelson Mandela University (2013-2014) This research seeks to study and advance the use of innovative approaches to programming, policy making and communication in reducing sexual violence amongst young women in South Africa, where the gender ‘machinery’ for combating sexual violence is in place (or should be in place), and where rates of sexual violence are unacceptably high.

The overall aim is to revisit how researchers and policy-makers draw on the participation of young women in relation to their safety and security.
